About The Name

It’s tough to take a leap of faith with just one foot.  Peter had to get both feet out of the boat to find out if the water would really hold him.  Likewise, deciding to follow Jesus can never be taken lightly, with one foot forward with another lagging behind.  “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Following Jesus requires leaving the old life behind – the old sins, objectives, attitudes, and selfish desires, and truly living a new life as a new creation, all the while falling absolutely in love with the Savior.  That kind of life leads to true joy and ultimate fulfillment.  But you can’t do it with just one foot – it takes two feet forward.

Style

The musical style of Two Feet Forward is authentic and diverse, blending acoustic rock with rootsy folk and pop sensibility, while adding their signature vocal harmonies.  Their lyrical focus is wholly unique, pulling from life experiences, scripture memorization, prayer and worship of God, and even rewriting gems found in little known hymns that boldly speak of God’s mercy and sustaining power.

Ministry

Two Feet Forward sees their calling as something more than just providing Christian entertainment – they seek to help make disciples of Jesus in any way possible, and they
partner with Christian churches and organizations to accomplish this end.  Through their concerts, worship leading, and ministry events they seek to help people draw near to God and be connected with the body of Christ for prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and discipleship.  Teaming with churches, youth groups, college groups, and non-denominational organizations is critical in accomplishing this ministry goal.

Two Feet Forward is unique in their desire to serve God both through concert performances and worship services.  This is reflected in their song writing, with original material including songs written specifically for concert settings and songs written for worship services.  Their background is equally diverse, with individual band members having performed in well-known secular bands, Christian bands, and having served as worship leaders at churches, retreats, youth conferences, Young Life and FCA clubs, and multiple youth groups.  They regularly lead contemporary-styled worship as a band in their home church, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas, in addition to performing concerts and other ministry events.  They have a wide repertoire of popular worship songs, original material, and well-known contemporary Christian songs (Rich Mullins, Jars of Clay, etc.).  Their musical diversity allows them to appeal to a broad range of people, and they have several types of song sets tailored for particular ministry events.  Events for which Two Feet Forward is perfectly suited include:

·    Concerts (church concerts, special events, retreats)
·    Worship leading (church services, youth & college groups, retreats)
·    Outreach events (youth, college, adult)
