Reference Verses – Ephesians 4:17, 5:9
I was the kind of guy that looked at Christ, but never wanted in too deep
Sitting around just thinking about sowing and trying to avoid the reap
I don’t recall the exact day when I started to change
From a pew sitting saint to a man more engaged
I want to live as a child of the Light
To transform into the character of Christ
No longer be futility
There’s a man on the corner who’s looking for my spare change
There’s a look in his eyes that tells me he’s quite deranged
I walk right past him and think he’s got to be to blame
But, really I’m too busy and I don’t want to deal with his pain
If I’m going to live as a child of the Light
And to transform into the character of Christ
Then I must be sensitivity
The other day at work, I really wanted to get that sale
The customer asked me where my product would fail
I smiled at him and told him what he wanted to hear
I really didn’t lie; I just left out a few details
If I’m going to live as a child of the Light
And to transform into the character of Christ
Then I must be honesty
You told me this and insist on it in the Lord
That I must no longer live indifferently
No longer be unwholesomely
No longer be maliciously
No longer be bitterly
I must be purity
I must be lovingly
